With Dana College recenly closing its doors due to not being accredited when it went from non-profit status to for-profit, there will be some financial impact felt on the city, small businesses, non-profits, and citizens alike. Dana College was the 2nd largest employer behind the still growing Cargill ethanol and plastics facility on the southeast corner of town. Another large employer is Huntel and American Broadband located just north of Washington Street in the center of town. With all of the trains barrelling through, and tractor trailers rolling down Washington Street, this town has a lot of opportunity for all!
Blair is also where my wife was raised and now I'm proud to say is where we are raising our family! Located 20 minutes north of Omaha, Blair has the small-town charm with the big city benefits. When you stand in line at the post office and a total stranger ends up talking your ear off...you know you're in a great town. The school system is ranked #2 in the state with a lot to offer for childhood development. The YMCA, city parks, city pool, and trails make for great family outings.
